The Beverly Foundation has recently named Medical Motor Service the 2011 winner of the National STAR Special Merit Award, given annually to an organization that excels in delivering transportation services to older adults in its community.

Founded in 1977, the Beverly Foundation was established to foster new ideas and options to enhance the mobility and transportation for today's and tomorrow's older population.  The STAR Awards Program, which began in 2000, was established to honor the "best of the best" transportation programs that provide services to older adults.  Since it's inception, the Foundation has evaluated over 1,300 Supplemental Transportation Programs throughout the country.

In 2011, over 281 senior transportation services across 47 U.S. States applied for one of three STAR awards.   Medical Motor Service was among only 19 providers in the country to be selected for an award.  MMS will receive the award along with a $5,000 cash prize to be used to promote and provide continued services to older adults in the Rochester community.
