This is a non-supervisory administrative support position responsible for the development of efficient and timely routes for Medical Motor Service. Continuously monitors vehicle and driver utilization to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and effective use of resources.



  • Ensure efficient and timely completion of trip assignments, assigning drivers as operational needs required
  • Updating information and changes in a specialized computer system
  • Re-assign drivers, as necessary, updating the information in the system and notifying appropriate managers/scheduling staff
  • Monitoring driver activity for cancellations and availability for trips
  • Answer messages regarding driver call in and relay that information to relevant staff members
  • Handle driver requests for emergency assistance
  • Complete paperwork accurately as assigned
  • Review all driver routes to ensure that vehicles are efficiently used in terms of capacity
  • Assign new passengers to existing routes and assign appropriate driver based on specific license class and specifications of the trip

  • Communicate trip concerns to supervisor and coordinate problem resolution
  • Monitor allocation of driver’s time to minimize use of overtime
  • Work with supervisors on resolving specific program routing issues and transportation-related complaints
  • If licensed as a CDL driver, fill in as a driver and safely transporting clients to and from programs
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma
  • At least two years of consistent dispatching experience for Monroe County and one year transporting passengers preferred
  • Ability to obtain a CDL Driver’s License, Class C or B with a passenger endorsement preferred


  • Ability to interact with passengers, co-workers, and clients in an appropriate and courteous manner
  • Computer skills and attention to accuracy and details
  • Able to communicate concisely and make sound decisions
  • Ability to read maps and determine the best route to a destination
  • Ability to operate and communicate over a send-receive radio
  • Knowledge of the Rochester area
