SUMMARY:

This is a non-supervisory administrative support position responsible for the development of efficient and timely routes for the ElderONE program.  Continuously monitors vehicle and driver utilization to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and effective use of resources. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Assign new passengers to existing routes and modify routes to accommodate increased or decreased demand through Route Match.

  • Review all driver routes to ensure that vehicles are efficiently used in terms of capacity while meeting the special requirements of ElderONE participants.

  • Maintain master file of driver assignments and times in Route Match.

  • Review and recommend assignment of drivers to maximize timeliness, while meeting all safety guidelines or requirements.  Implementation is responsibility of program supervisors.

  • Create daily work schedules for drivers.

  • Collaborate with vendors on an ongoing basis to ensure retail trip acceptance and execution.

  • Communicate trip concerns to appropriate MMS team members and coordinate problem resolution.

  • Solicit driver feedback to optimize routes.

  • Monitor allocation of driver’s time to specific runs to minimize use of overtime.

  • Monitor arrival and departure times at program sites.

  • Monitor travel time and ensure compliance with standards of maximum passenger time on vehicles.

  • Work with drivers to ensure that substitute run sheets are up to date for all runs.

  • Work with the program supervisors on resolving specific program routing issues and transportation related complaints.

  • Work with dispatcher(s) to coordinate execution of extra trips or unassigned trips.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Participate in daily department briefings.

  • Tour pickup and drop off sites to evaluate for safety.

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting.

  • Serve as backup resource to both Dispatch and Operations Supervisor.

  • Perform any and all duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor that are consistent with this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: High School Diploma/Associates Degree or higher preferred.

  2. Experience:  One year transporting passengers preferred,

  3. License/Certification Required: CDL Drivers License, Class C or B preferred

  4. Skills: 

    - Ability to interact with co-workers, and clients in an appropriate and courteous manner

    - Able to communicate concisely and make sound decisions

    - Ability to read maps and determine the best route to a destination

    - Data entry and typing skills
