Human Resource Assistant

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the Human Resource Assistant is responsible for the successful delivery of HR services under the direction of the HR Manager. Responsible for the weekly processing of payroll; providing admin support, enrollment of benefits for new hires, on boarding process, background screening and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Assists department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Processes weekly payroll in Paylocity payroll system.
  • Assists in administration of the performance management program; helps monitor the performance appraisal process.
  • Participates in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); coordinates job fairs, set up and registration.
  • Assists in the new hire processing and on boarding processes.
  • Responsible for advertising for open positions i.e. craigslist, indeed, website, intranet, RochesterWorks, VetNet, colleges, etc.
  • Administers pre-employment background checks & drug testing.
  • Administers all related termination paperwork.
  • Administers all employee incentive programs.
  • Maintains employee information and compiles reports from the database as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus one (1) year experience working in an payroll role. Experience within the Human Services field a plus.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills as evidenced by the ability to use workbooks, create simple formulas, insert and delete data, create and edit charts, filter and sort lists, and format data.

OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in tight deadlines as well as successfully prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced payroll environment.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Attention to detail including the ability to scrutinize, clarify and track processes to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll processing.

 

Human Resource Manager

 

SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, administering and maintaining appropriate records for Human Resource policies and procedures that include recruitment and orientation, benefits and compensation administration, employee counseling and terminations.  This position is also responsible for the administration of payroll, Workers Compensation and disability benefits.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Conduct organizational needs assessments and coordinate recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel; conduct new-employee orientations.
  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes the agency mission of providing safe, reliable and caring services to members of our community.
  • Responsible for employee retention, development and employee relations counseling.
  • Review and make recommendations to senior management for improvement of the agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel and payroll matters.
  • Leads company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements (i.e. EEO, ERISA, ADA).  Prepares information requested or required for compliance with laws.
  • Assist senior management in the annual review, preparation and administration of agency wage and salary program.
  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews.
  • Work directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the agency.
  • Develops and maintains a human resource system that meets agency personnel information needs.
  • Supervises the staff of the human resource/payroll department.
  • Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develop, recommend and administer personnel policies and procedures; perform benefits administration to include claims filing, resolution and change reporting.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and the safety committee.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned. 

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • May assist with United Way fund raising, coordinating Agency social functions and similar activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES): 

  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship and employee coaching skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.  Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in HRIS.
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, employee relations, safety and employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Better than average written and spoken communications skills

  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement preferred.
  • Supervisory experience

Driver - Part Time

(We are specifically looking for drivers that can work Saturdays)

 Responsible for providing safe, reliable door-through-door transportation to ambulatory clients, and some in wheelchairs.

Transportation Manager

SUMMARY:

This management position is responsible for the day to day operations as well as participating with strategic operational planning.  This position focuses on improving service efficiency, customer service, safety, program oversight and driver supervision. The successful candidate will collaborate with staff to coordinate driver training and testing, vehicle maintenance, and route development. 


 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as liaison to assigned programs and program staff.  Plan, coordinate and oversee the routing and daily transportation services for passengers to appointments.  Responsible for establishing and managing processes that result in the safe and timely arrival of passengers to appointments.
  • Gather data and develop reports on service metrics.
  • Follow up on customer complaints or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations of staff, input on hiring and terminations, and progressive discipline.
  • Provide on-site supervision at accident sites, including on call responsibilities for emergencies on evenings and weekends.
  • Participate in field observation activities with drivers.
  • Must be able to operate and understand windows based computer assisted scheduling and dispatch system, including GPS devices.
  • Advise senior management on program contracts and program development issues.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES:

  •  Minimum of five years in a supervisory role
  • College education preferred
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred
  • Proficient in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities and accomplish objectives within time constraints.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and a demonstrated ability to solicit necessary information from staff and customers.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, strong follow through and the ability to communicate positively with a diverse workforce and client base.
  • Ability to analyze data and make service changes.
